GreenIT.fr partners with Inéov: the software layer, a key component of green IT

GreenIT.fr

GreenIT.fr has been helping companies and communities in defining and implementing their Green IT strategies for over 4 years: energetic and environmental assessments, action plans, establishment of relevant indicators for project monitoring, choice of providers and team building. The GreenIT team also work for agencies such as ADEME, AFNOR, Cigref and Syntec and share their knowledge on www.greenit.fr , the French reference site. Their last mission was to design a sector guide ICT to specialize the Bilan Carbone Ademe so that companies and communities can achieve a relevant assessment of greenhouse gases emissions through their information systems.

GreenIT.fr and Inéov

"Inovallée is the first French technology park entirely dedicated to Green IT. Inéov is one of the key events of the year and a chance to meet Green IT professionals and share with them the latest advances made in eco-responsible computing.
As opposed to the prevailing marketing speech which encourages companies to save energy during the use phase of equipments by optimizing their energetic efficiency, our studies and feedback from notorious companies show that the software layer is the main factor that artificially accelerates the obsolescence of hardware, which is itself responsible for the economic footprint and ecological information systems. After demonstrating that the software layer plays a key part in reducing the footprint of information systems, we will suggest appropriate solutions."(Frederic Bordage)
